Do I need an account to create a poll?

Yes — you'll need a free account to create a poll, so you can manage it, see results, and share your admin link from one dashboard. Voting on someone else's poll never requires an account.

How many polls can I create on the free plan?

The Free plan includes 3 polls per month. Upgrading to Premium removes that limit — you can create as many polls as you like. There's never a limit on how many people respond to a poll on any plan.

Why do I have to confirm my email before sending invitations?

When you create an account we email you a confirmation link. Confirming your address unlocks sending invitations — it keeps typo'd and throwaway addresses from sending, which protects deliverability for everyone. Your polls work right away; only the invitation emails wait until you confirm. Didn't get the link? Use the "Resend" button on the banner, and check your spam folder.

Does the WordPress plugin need its own license?

Yes, the plugin uses a separate license key tied to your account, activated per WordPress site.

How are invitation emails sent from my WordPress site?

You choose, under meshnmeet → Setup → Email invitations. "Your own email service" sends through your site's SMTP (we recommend the free FluentSMTP plugin) — unlimited, and you own deliverability. "Through meshnmeet" lets us send them for you with no email setup at all — 30 free invitations a month, then prepaid credit packs. The meshnmeet option needs an active license. See plans & credits →

What are invite credits, and how do I get more?

Credits are prepaid invitations for the "Through meshnmeet" email option on a WordPress plugin site. Every month includes 30 free; if you need more, buy a credit pack — they never expire and are only spent after each month's free allowance. You don't need credits at all when you send through your own email service, which is unlimited. Buy invite credits →

My invitation emails aren't being delivered — what should I check?

If you send through your own email service on a WordPress site, the usual causes are email setup. Make sure your sending domain is verified in your provider (add the DKIM and Return-Path DNS records), and — with Postmark — that message streams named "invitations" and "transactional" exist, or Postmark rejects the send. Also confirm your meshnmeet email address (new accounts confirm before sending), and check your provider's activity log for the exact reason. Our Help Center has a step-by-step Postmark setup guide. Is my poll private, and can voting be anonymous?

You have two privacy controls. "Hide results until you vote" keeps the results grid hidden from each participant until they submit their own response, so early votes don't sway later ones. A confidential poll anonymizes voter names, so participants can't see who voted for what — only you, as the organizer, can. Turn either on in the poll wizard.

Can I collect extra information from voters?

Yes, with Premium. When you build a poll you can add up to five custom questions — a short text answer, an email, a number, or a yes/no — and mark each as optional or required (with quick presets for email, phone, and guest count). Participants answer them as they vote, and you'll see each person's answers on their row in the results grid.

Can I embed a poll on my own website?

Yes. Every poll gives you a WordPress shortcode to drop it into any page on a site running the meshnmeet plugin, and an iframe embed code to place it on any other website. You'll find both — with one-click copy — on the poll's confirmation step and in its Manage panel.

Can participants change their vote after submitting?

Yes — after voting, a participant can reopen their own response, pre-filled, and update it. If you'd rather lock votes once cast, turn on "Lock votes to admin-only editing" (Premium): participants then see a read-only note, and only you and your co-organizers can edit responses.

Can I limit how many people pick each option?

Yes. Set a maximum number of participants per option (for example, a dinner date that seats 12). Once an option is full, extra "yes" votes go onto a waitlist and are promoted automatically, in order, whenever someone drops out. Participants see how many spots are left, or that an option is full.

How do I export the results?

Open your poll's results as the organizer and use the "Export results" button to download everything — every response, plus any extra information you collected — as a CSV or an Excel (.xls) spreadsheet. Exporting is a Premium feature.

What happens to my polls if I cancel?

Your polls stay live on the Free plan; premium-only features stop working until you resubscribe.

Can I have co-organizers on a poll?

Yes — invite collaborators by email. They manage the poll from their own meshnmeet account with organizer rights, so you never share a single login. If they don't have an account yet, they're prompted to create one with that email.

Is there a limit on participants?

No participant limit on any plan. Free accounts are limited by number of polls per month, not responses per poll.

Do free polls show meshnmeet branding?

Yes — polls on the free plan display a small "Powered by meshnmeet" link. You can remove it and white-label your polls with Premium or an active plugin license: turn it off under Site Admin → Settings on your own WordPress site, or on your Account page on meshnmeet.com.

What's the difference between Free, Premium, and Pro?

Free covers the essentials — scheduling and opinion polls, live results, and up to 3 polls a month. Premium removes the poll limit and adds power features: unlimited polls, saved email lists, result exports (CSV/Excel), extra questions at vote, custom links, one-click reminders to non-responders, and removing meshnmeet branding. Pro is built for teams, schools, and charities — everything in Premium, plus full custom branding on your polls and emails, reusable templates, add-to-calendar, an analytics dashboard, and sign-up-sheet extras (per-person quantities and fill-rate analytics). Sign-up sheets themselves are free on every plan.

What is a sign-up sheet?

A sign-up sheet is a poll where each option is a slot with a capacity, and people claim slots rather than just vote — great for potlucks, volunteer rosters, and shift scheduling. When a slot fills, extra claims are waitlisted and promoted automatically if someone drops out. Sign-up sheets are free on every plan; Pro adds per-person quantities ("bring 2 dozen cookies", "take 2 shifts") and sign-up fill-rate analytics.

Can I remind people who haven't voted yet?

Yes, with Premium. From a poll's Manage panel, "Remind non-responders" emails everyone who was invited but hasn't voted, in one click. It respects your monthly invite allowance. (Pro adds an analytics dashboard that shows how many people responded after a reminder.)

Can I put my own logo and colours on my polls?

Yes, with Pro. On your Account page, set a logo and an accent colour and your polls and invitation emails use your branding instead of meshnmeet's. (Premium already removes the "Powered by meshnmeet" badge; Pro goes further with full custom branding.)

Can I reuse a poll instead of building it each time?

Yes, with Pro. Save any poll's setup as a reusable template and start new polls from it, or use "Duplicate" on a poll to open the wizard pre-filled from that poll (dates are cleared so you pick fresh ones). Great for anything you run regularly, like a weekly standup or a monthly volunteer sheet.

Can participants add the dates to their calendar?

Yes, on scheduling polls (Pro). Everyone gets an "Add to calendar" option that downloads an .ics file, so proposed dates drop straight into Apple Calendar, Google Calendar, or Outlook — all the dates at once, or a single date.

Can I see analytics for my polls?

Yes, with Pro. Your analytics dashboard shows response rates, average time to respond, your best days to schedule, sign-up fill rates, a downloadable list of non-responders, and how many people responded after your reminders — over a 30-, 90-, or 365-day window.

Can I upload a contact list to invite people?

Yes. In the wizard's Send invitations step, upload a .csv, .xls, or .xlsx and meshnmeet pulls the email addresses into your invite list, skipping any already there. Exports from Gmail, Outlook, Excel, and Google Sheets all work.

Do nonprofits and schools get a discount?

Yes. Registered charities and schools can apply for Pro at a discount — or free — from our nonprofit application page. We verify your organization and set you up. Apply for the nonprofit discount →

Can I connect meshnmeet to my other apps?

Yes, with Pro. meshnmeet connects to Zapier and Make today — generate an API key on your Account page, then build automations that fire when someone responds, a new person joins a poll, a sign-up slot is claimed or fills up, a poll is created, or a poll closes, sending that data to Google Sheets, Slack, Mailchimp, your CRM, and thousands of other apps. You can also create a poll or invite people in meshnmeet from another app. Native Slack, Microsoft Teams, and more are on the way. See all integrations →
